Questions & Answers
Do you offer phone sessions or video sessions?
Yes. Sessions are available by secure video or phone.
What states are you licensed in?
I am licensed in Arizona, Montana, and Idaho.
Do you work with individuals or couples?
Both. I work with adults, couples, and also offer coaching, consulting, and relationship intensives.
Do you work with teens or children?
My practice primarily focuses on adults and couples. In certain situations, I may work with teens on a case-by-case basis. If you're looking for services for a child or teen, feel free to reach out and we can discuss whether it might be a good fit.
Do you accept insurance?
Please visit the Insurance Accepted page for the most current list of accepted plans and states.
What if I don't see my insurance listed?
Feel free to reach out. Insurance participation continues to evolve as I expand credentialing across states and plans.
How long are sessions?
Most therapy sessions are approximately 60 minutes.
What is your approach to therapy?
I tend to be conversational, relational, and collaborative. While I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, I don't believe healing happens because someone uses the right acronym. My focus is on understanding patterns, increasing insight, and helping people make meaningful changes that hold up in real life.
Does your blindness affect therapy sessions?
Not in the ways most people expect. I've never relied on facial expressions as my primary source of information, so I pay close attention to language, tone, patterns, inconsistencies, and the things people often skip over. Most clients find that it becomes a non-issue very quickly.
Do I need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy?
Not at all. Many of the people I work with are functioning well on the outside but feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in patterns they can't seem to change.
How often do people typically meet with you?
It depends. Some people prefer weekly sessions, while others benefit from meeting less frequently. We'll work together to determine what makes the most sense for your situation and goals.
What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy involves assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health concerns. Coaching focuses on support, insight, consultation, and goal-oriented growth outside of a therapeutic relationship.
What if I'm not sure whether I need therapy, coaching, or consulting?
That's okay. You don't need to figure that out before reaching out. We can talk through what you're looking for and determine which option makes the most sense.
Do both partners need to attend couples therapy?
In most cases, yes. However, both partners do not need to attend the initial consultation call.
What if I'm not sure where to start?
You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. A consultation is a chance for us to discuss what's bringing you in, answer questions, and determine whether working together feels like a good fit.
