My Approach
REAL CONVERSATIONS. DEEPER UNDERSTANDING. LASTING CHANGE.
WHAT IT IS LIKE TO SIT WITH ME
Most people expect therapy to feel a certain way. A little formal. A little careful. This isn’t really that.
It’s usually pretty easy, honestly. People tend to settle in quickly. We just… talk. Not in a super structured, “let’s do this the right way” kind of way. More like an actual conversation where things can go somewhere real. A lot of what I’m doing is asking questions. Not rapid-fire. Not scripted. Just the kind of questions that make you pause for a second. The ones that don’t always have an immediate answer. The ones that shift how you’re looking at something, even a little. Because most of the time, it’s not that you haven’t thought about your life. It’s that no one’s asked you the right question yet. And once we find it, things start to open up. Not all at once. But enough that you can start to see yourself—and what’s happening—more clearly.
I tend to think in systems. So I’m not just looking at one moment or one reaction. I’m looking at how everything connects: what leads to what, and where things keep looping. Usually there’s one small shift that changes more than you’d expect. Not everything. But enough that the rest starts to move with it. So a lot of the work ends up simply being getting to know you well enough that what we’re noticing actually fits. And when it does, it clicks. I’ll be honest with you. Not in a heavy or overwhelming way. Just… straightforward. Sometimes that looks like humor. Sometimes it’s a pause. Sometimes it’s a question that stays with you longer than you expected.
And I’m not sitting there judging you while we do it. I’m usually more interested in understanding how you got there. What makes sense about it. What fits. What doesn’t. Because every person’s version of this is a little different. A lot of people I work with have done therapy before. So they already know what it usually feels like. At some point, they start to notice this feels a little different. Not because we’re doing anything wildly new. Just because it feels more personal. More specific. And things start to make sense in a way that actually sticks. That’s usually when things begin to shift.

WHO THIS IS FOR (AND WHO IT'S NOT)
This tends to work well for a certain kind of person.
You’re thoughtful. Pretty self-aware. You’ve spent time trying to understand yourself already. You’re not starting from scratch.
But something’s still… not shifting. You can see the patterns. You just can’t always get out of them when it actually matters.
You’re open to being honest about that. You don’t need things sugarcoated. But you also don’t want to feel judged or talked down to. You want something real.
You’re okay being asked questions that make you think. Even the ones that take a second to answer. Especially those.
THIS MIGHT NOT BE A GREAT FIT IF:
You’re looking for someone to mostly listen and validate without pushing you much. Or you want something very structured, step-by-step, or formulaic. Or you’d rather stay at the surface of things.
There’s nothing wrong with any of that. It’s just not really how I work.
If you read this and thought,
"Yeah... that sounds like me,"
there is a really good chance this will feel like a fit.
